The book is well written, easy to read, and well supported with historical and practical illustrations and documentation. The reader will need to read a substantial portion of it to gain an adequate perception of the principles and issues on which it is focused. There is a graphic and startling description in appendix D, "The Interposition of the Military," which may understandably shock some people--to the extent that some may question the author's wisdom in including it. However, it is true and expressed using technically proper diction and is no doubt intended to indeed startle the reader into full realization of just exactly what is going on. I intend to use the book as a secondary college textbook for a class I am teaching on issues of constitutional law and citizen participation in government. I recommend the book to mature individuals concerned about our eroding personal freedoms in this country.
Comprehensive study of a doctrine I had never heard of. Very insightful and helpful.
This IS the answer. This is the lawful and effective way to restore freedom and bind back encroaching government. This is the manly way to preserve civil freedom, and bring light to hinder unjust "laws." Read it, send it to legislators. Legislators, apply it. You are in office as a God-appointed steward to act righteously and legally, protecting the people of your jurisdiction from tyranny.
Do not miss this book! Read it! Teach it! Spread it far and wide, until the "simple ploughman" in America can once again intelligently discuss the proper role of civil government and the relations of the various branches and jurisdictions with any would-be politician soliciting votes.
Very well written containing just the right amount of info to whet the appetite and provoke the thinking of those concerned with a “what next”. As other reviewers have suggested, this ought to be in the hand of every legislator and elected official. If decades ago concerned individual(s) could send a set of The Fundamentals to every pastor, surely such an attempt ought to be made in this regard, eh?
This is the most amazing book that shows the responsibility of those in office to oppose laws that are contrary to the constitution and God’s laws of morality and righteousness. He gives concrete examples of those who have gone against unjust laws and practices by those in power. Sometimes it worked and other times not but it is still our duty to stand for righteousness.
I liked every page of this important information -- every person, including pastors at the pulpit, should read and apply this knowledge to properly resist the tyranny of government. You must stand for something -- stand up for morality, truth, justice; and this book helps you clarify how this has been done in history to right many wrongs done by bully type governments (like America is turning into right before our eyes.
Good book that was a breath of fresh air compared to the submit to goverment without question arguments. Submission does not mean the authorities are always right or that those under that authority are without redress when authority oversteps its bounds. I'll be studying this further. Book was a little repetitive and could have used a little more development but it was a good starting point.
